length 8 inches, total Troy weight 10.49 ounces, monogrammed "B.B." (script, obverse). These have seen some hefty use by hungry hands. There is a bit of wear where they meet the plate, some of which encroaches upon the engraving. That said, they do still have a certain charm, excellent diaper work and scrolled decoration, and a wonderful feel in the hand. Marked "patent 1855 / coin" (mark is worn).

each acid etched with "Jan. 14th 1891" one with the initials "LB" and the other "DB" in fanciful foliate script, height 1 3/8; diameter 1 7/8 inches, total Troy weight 2.58 ounces, excellent condition.

We've made a brief attempt to find a pair of socialites who were married that Winter Wednesday and come up empty handed, but you dear reader may have the pleasure of continuing this search, once these are safely in your collection.

These are truly a choice find!

NY circa 1840, diameter 8 1/2 inches, weight 13 Troy ounces, some light surface wear but fine overall condition, marked as shown in fourth enlargement.

The three elaborately cast and chased feet, with highly carved flowers and scrolls, elevate this object into the realm of far above average.

height 2 1/2; diameter 6 1/4 inches, a minor dent which is visible mainly from the underside (see 2nd and 3rd enlargements) but fine overall condition, no monogram, marked as shown, weight 9.09 Troy ounces.

For those who are not familiar with his work, Frederick Gyllenberg worked in Boston, MA during the first quarter of the twentieth century, and was one of the preeminent American Arts & Crafts era silversmiths...

length 6 5/8 inches, plated steel blades, very minor pinpricks at ends which we've exaggerated in enlargement number four but fine overall condition, monogrammed "C."

As collectors will know, if any of them remain above ground, knives in this elegant old Durgin pattern are scarce.

length inches, weight 2.17 Troy ounces, monogrammed "G" (?) in elaborate shaded script, obverse, and "1824 / 1874" reverse, reticulated gilt bowl engraved with ivy leaves, immaculate original condition.

We have never encountered a spoon with this boat-shaped flat bottom bowl in the past, and have conferred with a Very Knowledgeable Fellow who has owned one (yes, just one) before and is of the opinion that this is indeed a berry spoon.

or "kidney" shaped bowl, length 9 5/8 inches, weight 4.27 Troy ounces, gilt bowl, excellent condition.

Granted, this is not the rarest piece of Tiffany flatware you'll encounter while surfing the interwebz, but several features do make it stand out from the crowd: 1) the overall color, condition and lack of polishing wear 2) the exceptionally well executed and decorative Art Nouveau monogram (see third photo) which I can not decipher, and 3) the eminently reasonable price tag.

length 9 1/8 inches, monogrammed "FLC" script reverse (see third photo), marked "sterling 11", an extremely slight wave to the blade mentioned as my esteemed colleague in Tennessee would say only for the sake of accuracy but fine overall condition and not one but two bugs crawling among those roses...

New York circa 1855, length 8 inches, weight 10.41 Troy ounces (avg. 1.75 oz. T each), excellent condition, monogrammed "F.E.M." in period script; see third enlargement, marked with his trademark and J. Cook incuse.

One could spend a substantial number of hours searching through design patents looking for the original name of this pattern, and come up empty handed...

3 1/2 inches from snout to tail, weight 3.86 Troy ounces, the pair, no monogram, excellent condition. Marked only "STERLING" with silversmith's scratch marks as shown in second enlargement.

It hardly needs to be said, but these are adorable.

length 8 1/4 inches, pleasantly heavy in the hand at 4.59 Troy ounces, no monogram, gilded with light wear to gilding at high points but exceptionally fine overall condition, marked as shown in fifth enlargement.

An exemplary item for the collector of cast bonbonnieres.

with engraved faintly gilt blade, the handle circular in section, length 9 1/8 inches, no monogram, excellent condition.

length 9 7/8 inches, weight a zaftig (or, as the more genteel would say, "robust") 4.05 oz. Troy, one scratch on blade--see fifth photo-- which we'll attack with pumice before shipping but excellent overall condition, no monogram. A classic wedding gift, the bride or groom will remember you with fond gratitude whenever pie is served...

luncheon fork and teaspoon, lengths 7 3/4, 7 1/8, 7 1/4 and 6 inches respectively, weight 5.34 oz. Troy, all monogrammed "Ralph Chandler" script obverse. For those who have interest in such matters, Ralph Chandler served as Master Lieutenant on the sloop Vandalia, and saw action on her in the Civil War battle of Port Royal...

length 10 1/8 inches, weight 3.34 Troy ounces, ornate four letter script monogram on reverse, excellent condition.

The blade features a restrained and well executed bit of engraving (please see third enlargement) with brite-cut foliage and shaded flowers.

height 1 7/8 and 2 1/4 inches respectively; gross Troy weight 5.1 ounces, no monogram, excellent condition although the ebony (or teak?) handle is a bit wobbly in place.

Porter was a highly talented silversmith, but his work is inconsistent and sometimes sloppy. These items showcase his skills at their best. The solder joints are subtle and superbly executed, the hammering is uniform and attractive, the piercings are symmetrical...
