We're not going to prattle on about how rare it is or how good it is, but you may rest assured that it's both. Aside from a small test mark on the underside (please see fourth photo) the condition is pretty much flawless.

engraved on reverse "Comp'n Thos R. Smith appointed Grand Sword bearer AL 5834 AD1830", diameter 2 1/2 inches, pristine original condition, weight .80 Troy ounces, tests 14K, unmarked. An object of remarkable construction and quality, each letter on the obverse is hand-cut and applied. The circular and triangular elements are fastened together with miniature nuts and bolts. Taunton, MA inscribed "King David Lodge, June 12, 5873" (Masonic calendar for 1873), marked "Pollard & Leighton / coin" (Boston circa 1870), weight 5.78 Troy ounces, length 8 inches, excellent condition.

guilloché enamel box, three distinct patterns visible in the engine turned engraving depending on your angle of vision (see enlargements), double hidden integral hinges opening outward from the center, gilt interior, 3 1/4 by 2 1/8 by 3/8 inches. There is a minor flake in the enamel (see third photo) which doesn't extend through to the metal, and some scuffing around the edges on reverse but aside from this the condition is superb...

Those of us who had a chance to visit the "Silver and Shawls: India, Europe, and the Colonial Art Market" at Harvard's Sackler Museum are no doubt all steamed up about anglo-Indian silver, and want a little example for our collection. Stop here. This is a great one. Length just shy of 5 inches; width 1 1/8; decagonal in section; nearly flawless condition (lid over stoppered end does not hold tightly-- see third photo). Unmarked; no monogram.

set of six in original felt lined box, .800 standard, maker Fabbrica Argenteria Fiorentina circa 1935, total weight 3.86 oz. Troy, excellent condition, no monogram. These are well modelled and well executed. Each putto is full figural front and back. Though the little folks are cast from the same mold, each is carrying a different dish: soup, fish, fowl, eggplant, grapes, salad, and of course wine. An altogether charming way to guide your guests at table.

model B1925, probably a Codman design, 3 by 2 3/8 inches, heavy, finely cast and in untouched original condition. A museum quality object.

circa 1955, .833 standard, height 3 1/8 inches, weight 2.67 Troy ounces, excellent condition, no monogram. A very charming little owl indeed.

London 1778, height 4 3/4; diameter 3 1/4 inches, weight 3.67 Troy ounces, a few very minor dents which won't show up in photos but fine overall condition (there's a bit of distress to the tip-- see fourth photo-- greatly enlarged here), monogrammed as shown.

Frequent visitors to our little web page know that we're not in the habit of featuring "as is" items, but these have substantial merit even with their condition problem. London, 1893, maker William Richard Corke; retailed by A. Barrett & Sons, height 4 3/8 inches, weight 21.3 grams or if you'd prefer .68 oz Troy, excellent condition, no monogram.

For Victorian era bookmark collectors, I daresay that this is the sine qua non.

a rare, diminutive example, 3 1/8 X 1 7/8 X just under 1/2 inches, weight 2.3 Troy ounces.

It is an unusual pleasure to find an object which is engraved ("J. Diprose, EsqR / from J.J.G. Bombay") with both a name and a location, to lend it an added sense of history.

This item is superb in both design and execution. Though we always hesitate to say "flawless condition," one would be hard-pressed to find fault...

with oak leaves and acorns, height and diameter both approximately 1 3/4 inches, weight 1.8 oz Troy, fine condition, marked only "S 620" but according to a Very knowledgeable fellow, the work of Wood and Hughes.

length excluding chain 2 7/8 inches, fine condition, no monogram, marked with Shiebler trademark and 14K (see fourth photo). Some would say that the Medallion bubble has burst and others would say bubble be damned, good design is timeless...

first standard (in Belgium this is .900); length 3 3/4 inches, bird measures 1 7/8 by 1 3/8; excellent condition, no monogram. A truly patriotic embellishment for your dining table.

marked only "sterling 4," (see fourth enlargement) these are probably Whiting or Gorham, circa 1868. Pleasantly heavy in the hand, they are of exceptional quality and workmanship. Each arm comprises a grapevine (complete with added "age" marks!) with two applied grape leaves and a dangling cluster of grapes. A splendid example of Victoriana, and similar in theme to cheese scoops with figural mice, as their form defines their function...

diameter 1 3/4; height 1 1/2 inches, with high quality brite cut and roulette work engraving, no monogram, superb condition (there is a flea-bite test mark shown in third enlargement), weight 2.02 Troy ounces, unmarked.

Our resident fashion consultant tells me that rose gold colored items (it is gilt inside and out) such as this are currently "in".
