circa 1850, height 3 3/4; top diameter 3 1/8; bottom diameter 2 1/2 inches, satisfyingly hefty at 5.94 oz. Troy, a few very minor dings but fine overall condition. Just one or two mouse clicks in a GoogleŽ search window will find you a similar example which was lighter, shorter and in rather shabby condition that fetched our same price, at auction...
Virginia circa 1840, length 8 5/8 inches, weight 2.23 oz. Troy, monogrammed "CR" in period script, a bit of pitting especially to reverse of bowl (see fourth photo) and the tiniest tad of tip wear but good overall condition.
New Orleans circa 1858, length 8 3/4 inches, some minor dents in bowls but no tip wear, good overall condition and above average weight; monogrammed "F.M.P." (script, obverse). Items bearing the mark of L. Simons (see second photo) would appear to be scarce.
A.B. Griswold & Co, New Orleans, length 5 7/8 inches, monogrammed "ML" (reverse, script with flourishes). These are not in the best condition, with some dents and tip wear, but they did spend time in our great Crescent City... Please see second photo for mark.
