We suspect that these were birthday gifts because each inscription is done in a slightly different style. large (9 3/4"), heavy (6.26 oz. Troy) and in immaculate condition, these tongs don't appear to have suffered much use during the last ninety some-odd years. Bought new, they'd probably set you back almost as much as a small Mercedes, if indeed ONC still makes this piece.
