the blade well engraved with three frolicking fishes, knife 11 7/8, fork 9 3/8 inches, fine condition, monogrammed "Lockwood" (obverse, see third photo), weight 8.2 Troy ounces and not too bad a price either we might add... Is my high school English teacher rolling over in her grave? No may God bless her she's still with us!!

height 9 5/8 inches, smoothly ground pontil. As is often the case, the top rim has suffered some insults and been ground down a bit to hide them (please see second photo). Also, the stopper is alas a marriage and not a happy one. Nonetheless this is one handsome piece of glass.

Baltimore MD circa 1790, round downturned end with just a hint of a rear midrib extending 3 inches down the handle, unusual double arched drop, length 8 3/4 inches, some tip wear as shown but good overall condition, monogrammed "H" in period script. an original set at that-- all with date letter "F", S.K. in rectangle, 11 over 12, and city mark. Length 8 3/8 inches, weight 31.1 Troy ounces, all monogrammed "M" (reverse, period script, see third photo) most have some slight tine wear but the pattern is in very good condition. One or two are hard to find, but a set of twelve is rare, and this is not a word which we use lightly!!!
Our only American assay office was located in the city of Baltimore, circa 1814-30...

Yes, just one lonesome spoon in spite of the fact that you see eight pictured above, and it's a bit substandard at that with some small dents in the bowl and a slightly uneven edge of same, length 5 7/8 inches, monogrammed "Maria". To reflect both these sad issues and our troubled times, the price is unabashedly cheap.

in rectangle. Is this Joseph Carman? John Chalmers? Joseph Carpenter? Am I failing to Inspire Confidence? Truly, as with many initial marks, the answer may never be known. Length 5 7/8 inches, monogrammed "M" in period script, the bowls are a bit chewed up (see fourth photo) and there is some tip wear-- priced accordingly.
