Leveridge was part of a prominent New York family, many of whom were attorneys. His grandfather John William Chase Leveridge (please see fourth photo) served in the war of 1812, and upon his death in 1886 was the oldest living lawyer in the city. According to the New York Times' obituary, "he retained the full use of his faculties up to the time of his death," an accomplishment to which we all may aspire...
