length 11 3/8 inches, weight 6.67 Troy ounces, craftsman Charles w. Brown, no monogram. There are a few minor scratches on bowl and tines (ask us nicely and we'll gently hand polish these before shipping) as shown in the 2nd and 3rd enlargements, but the overall condition is excellent, no monogram.

I hesitate to use the word "rare" in a description, as it is tossed around with reckless abandon elsewhere on this world-wide web, but a fairly thorough search has turned up few if any other examples of this pattern. The MFA holds a porringer (accession number 2003.817) with similar fishies, made for the Parker family, and one can't help but wonder if they didn't also commission this set. According to Chickering's description of a child's bowl made for the family, (p. 158, plate 163) Herbert Parker was attorney general of Massachusetts from 1901-5.
