a good pair of Iris screwback earrings, Guglielmo Cini,
SOLD
Boston circa 1930. What makes them good? First, a sculptor created the clay model of this flower, and did a rather decent job of it. Next, Mr. Cini chose to cast the model rather than have dies made for a stamping, which though more labor intensive and costly insured that each piece would receive special attention. And finally the earrings were oxidized and polished properly to show off the depth and detail of the Iris. There you have it. Greatest dimension .75 inches both length and height, excellent condition, no monogram, marked "CINI sterling"
