Beautifully embossed goldtone sewing etui in a with original tassel. Ladies would have carried in their purse or pocket. Inside is a brass thimble and a plastic tube wrapped with 3 different colored threads (black, white, tan) which unscrews to reveal a stored safety pin and needles. It all fits together very well. Marked Austria and in excellent condition, the etui measures 2" long. We thought this would also make a fabulous pill box and could be put on a key chain, see last photo...

A very unusual blue lusterware sardine box with a sardine on top. The fish is actually curved with the body arching so that just the head and tail are attached to the box, see last photo, a very nice little detail. The colors are great with the inside being a contrasting vibrant orange lusterware. The box looks like it has never been used. Made in Czechoslovakia by Victoria, it is in excellent condition and measures 5" x 4" x 3".

In November 1914, an advertisement was placed in the national press inviting monetary contributions to a 'Sailors & Soldiers Christmas Fund' which had been created by Princess Mary. The purpose was to provide everyone wearing the King's uniform and serving overseas on Christmas Day 1914 with a 'gift from the nation'. The response was truly overwhelming, and it was decided to spend the money on an embossed brass box, based on a design by Messrs Adshead and Ramsey...

A lovely hand carved jade box with 2 crabs on the top. Nice open work. The box is lined with glass to support the jade panels and crabs appear on the sides, bottom is solid. The jade is a off white with a green tint. Bronze frame is engraved. Box measures 4" x 5" and 2.25" high. Early 20th C.
