This beautiful comport and liner plate was made by the Consolidated Glass Company as part of the Martele line. Designed by Reuben Haley, the piece was produced in the late 1920's. The pattern is called 'Iris', though it looks like wild roses to me.... The comport or mayo bowl is approximately 5 1/2 inches in diameter, the under plate is 7 inches in diameter. Offered here is an assortment of Swanky Swigs from the 1930's. These glasses were originally sold with Kraft Cheese products - just like the jelly glasses of today. The pattern of these swankies is called 'Carnival' due to the bright fiesta-like colors. They are 3 1/2 inches high and in excellent condition. I have 9 available: 3 green and 6 orange.
