This is a quite old covered powder or candy box, 3" tall and 4 3/4" in diameter, made by Meissen in the 'Strewn Flowers' or 'Scattered Flowers' or 'Streublumen' pattern. It has the older crossed swords mark of 1850 to 1924. Gold trim shows no wear, however the top of the box in the very center has faint scratches where someone has evidently placed the lid upside down when using the powder. They are only noticible in reflected light and are not throug the hand ...click for details
