Lovely small vase or bowl, Murano, probably Barbini, outside is white opaque, inside has a layer of deep pink or rose, topped with lots and lots of aventurine dust, which cannot be seen well in photos. Scalloped rim, bullicante bubbles on interior. A lovely small piece, at 3-1/8" tall and 3" diameter. With only original manufacturing anomalies (light tool marks around perimeter, 1 small open bubble), this piece is in excellent condition. Heavy for its size. ...click for details

Art glass bowl in a technique similar to what the Italians refer to as "inciso." The incising goes all the way around and from to to pontil. Pontil is ground smooth and slightly concave at the base, slightly convex inside. Yellow-green in color. 5" diameter, 2-1/2" tall. Not absolutely certain this is Murano in origin, but it certainly appears a strong likelihood. Excellent condition. c. 1950-1970. $10 US Shipping.

Spectacular cranberry, sommerso (the cranberry color is "suspended" within clear, art glass bowl from mid-20th Century, very thick and very heavy, with silver gilt, in a modernist pattern of three exotic fish. Unfortunately, there is a very small abrasion which we believe began as an open bubble (common in mouthblown glass), and was subsequently tampered with by someone who didn't not understand the nature of this glass. It is not severe, only about 1/8" in diameter at the m ...click for details

Pale green antique Venetian Glass Plate with Drops on the underside which show through the top side of the plate. The plate rests on a slender ring-foot with original clipped pontil in the center. Tiny, thinning trails of the drops were allowed to "drip" over the ring foot, and those drips are where the plate has rested when in contact with a surface. These little drips exhibit the "foam" of external bubbles inherent in mouthblown glass, and some of them are sharp indicati ...click for details
