Beautifully and intricately handpainted Asian Plate, with added gold highlighting the river, and metallic copper highlighting the night sky; a fisherman in the foreground, boats and huts in the background. Signed in gold script lower left, and in Asian characters upper right about 2 o'clock. 5-1/2" diameter. Lovely very old Japanese artist signed Small Bowl with lovely orange and gold border inside and very faint blue figure in center; most of the raised enamel design is around the outside of the bowl, with blue XO border around the foot of the bowl. It may be that this was a lid to another bowl. What appears to be chips on the base rim is actually original and under the glaze. 4-1/8" diameter at rim, 1-1/4" tall.
