Fabulous early-mid 20th Century Italian Pottery, Majolica Lamp Base, signed "Cellini, Italy," on base. There is a hole in the side base for a cord, and the lamp rod accommodation goes all the way through, so reconverting to a lamp will be no problem at all. We believe this to be Banko Ware. This is truly a wonderful work of art. If you would like to see more photos, please email us, as it was impossible to capture all of the nuances of this very elaborate dragon that encircles the bowl (ashtray). The indentions in this bowl seem to be decorated in the form of clouds; and the dragon is intricately formed. The bowl is in good condition, with a few sharp, tusk-like tips which have broken off.
