From the repair studio of a one-time porcelain, glass and decorative arts restorer. Three packages of Sealing Wax in their original, very old boxes. From back: (1) Optimus, the Dicks-Pontius Co, Dayton Ohio, box in half, as is partially used wax. (2) Zubian Wax, by the same company, unused full box of was, broken in half. What a neat item ... can be used as a laptop desk, or as a jewelry box, primarily a man's box. The lid is actually a roll-top just like the old roll-top desks, opening to reveal a burgundy-lined compartment on the right with tray which could be used for jewelry or pens and pencils. Europa Clock, 2 Jewels, Made in Germany, original mother-of-pearl dial, enameled hour and minute hands, alarm hand, swivels on brass or gold-plated mounts, and frame and base are marble, likely Italian. 8-3/8" tall, both the clock marble and the base are each nearly 4" diameter. Two minor issues: it cannot be wound because it needs to be cleaned; the rod into the clock marble seems to be slightly bent, or more likely, a gold washer might be missing. Thick, heavy, substantial heart shaped blown, Art Glass, Pen Holder (pen not included; see 3803B for the Pierre Cardin pen in the photos). This beautiful little heart measures 3-3/4" x 3-1/2" x 2-7/8" tall. The part that holds the pen is a very clever spiraling receptacle. Most any pen would fit this. Excellent condition. There's an inscription engraved on the front, and if you don't clean it, it will probably never be noticed. It reads, "Best Wishes, Van Buren Staff, 1982." This is a great old (1982 we assume) Solid Brass Teacher's Desk Bell -- what fun for the Teacher of any age students. Very lovely solid brass Bowl Holder, Bowl display, or use for any item you have in mind to display. Three large brass leaves make up the holder, on three stem feet.
