A special bowl, indeed, in bright, clear, sommerso cranberry glass, incorporating a rare and unusual pulegoso technique (random air bubbles of various sizes) the direction of which has been masterfully controlled to create a spider web pattern which radiates from the center, outward, and the web becomes larger toward the edge. The cranberry and web pattern are held sommerso within a thick, all-over layer of crystal clear glass, and the foot becomes totally crystal. Two folds are pressed opposite each other, to help create this most pleasing, oval shape. 8.75" x 6" x 2.50". Although we cannot be certain as no labels remain, we do suggest it may be a Seguso, owing to the many fine pieces of pulegoso and bollicine which were produced there. One small area of repairable damage, underneath left curve of one fold, described on photo. c. 1950-1960. $14 US Shipping.
