Great hand crafted box; inlaid wood in double stripes on the lid, and all around the perimeter. Neat handcut and shaped handles and feet; handles are made from alternating light and dark, multi-layered wood pieces, and their final, top layer is inlaid with the lighter wood. The lid is bordered with the lighter wood. Condition is excellent; although there's two natural cracks in the wood of the lid (pictured), and they do not cause a problem. Seven small, 1/2" long pieces of the inlay are missing from the feet. They would be easy to replace, but as is, one does not even notice the tiny missing pieces. Some craftsman has lovingly spend many hours creating this special box; and we are pleased to be able to offer it. c. 1920s. $16.75 US Shipping.
