George V Infantry Officer's Sword with Field Scabbard George V Infantry Officer's Sword. This elegant original British sword is one of the best Infantry Officer's swords ever made. Its style was adopted from the British War Department in 1895 and it is a fine example of the 1897 pattern with royal cypher and crown. This particular one was made between 1911 and 1935 and bears the mark of Wm Scully, Montreal. William Scully Ltd is the manufacturing wholesaler who supplies the Government and Units across Canada for over 130 years. This type swords came either with the leather-wrapped wooden scabbard for field use or the nickel plated steel scabbard which was the one for the full dress uniform. This sword has the leather-wrapped wooden scabbard and it is in very good original condition. The blade has very fine clear etchings with beautiful scrollwork designs. Excellent overall condition.

Professional appraisal included.
