Beautiful preserve spoon in the Medallion pattern by Hotchkiss & Schreuder, Syracuse, NY. CA 1870. They first produced this Medallion pattern in about 1867. This piece is marked "STERLING" so is probably after 1870. In excellent condition with significant gilding remaining on the bowl. The medallion of the young Dionysus is sharp. Marked H & S, STERLING, and M & D ROSENBERG for the unknown retailer. No engraving. 6 and 11/16 inches long.

A pair of American Coin Silver Fiddle Tipt Double Swell (Scotch Fiddle) Tablespoons or Serving Spoons 8 and 7/8 inches long by Lowell & Senter of Portland, Maine. Lowell & Senter were watchmakers and jewelers from 1837 to 1869. Excellent condition except for tips of bowls which are slightly worn on the left side, indicating significant use, probably as serving spoons. Mono "R" in script on reverse. Gorham garvy or sauce ladle in the "Josephine" pattern, patented 1855. Marked incuse with PATENT 1855 and COIN. Mono "ACH" in Copperplate. Bowl has been very slightly bent on the right but has been straightened. This does not detract from usefulness or appearance, but does result in a lower price.

Magnificent Sterling soup ladle in the "Italian" pattern by William Gale & Son, NYC. Patented in 1860. Possibly manufactured as late as 1870. Incuse marks of W Gale & Son, 925 Sterling, and Patented 1860. Incuse mark "1" on reverse of shoulder. Monogramed with gothic "G." Perfect except for some minor scuffing on the left side of the bowl on the outside (see photo).

Coin silver crumber by Samuel T. Crosby of Boston, Mass. c. 1849-50 in the Fiddle Thread pattern. Engraved "ARM" in Old English on the handle. Baroque etching on the blade with no monogram in the cartouche. Excellent condition with one questionable ding toward the end of the blade that does not show on the back and is barely discernable.
