Coin silver dessert fork in the fiddle thread pattern, 6 3/4 inches long. Tines worn. Engrave "FJK" on reverse in copperplate script. Marked "E.A.TYLER.NEW ORLEANS" in rectangle. Tyler was in business in New Orleans, Louisiana from 1838 to 1879. This fork is probably from the 1845 to 1861 period.

Coin silver teaspoon marked "S WILMOT" in rectangle. Fiddle thread pattern. This is either the mark of Samuel Wilmot of New Haven, CT, Georgetown, SC (1824-37) and Charleston, SC (1838-41) or of Samuel Wimot of Savannah, GA c. 1850-56. It could be either. It looks very mcuh like the mark attributed by Belden to the Charleston Wilmot. Probably made in NYC and sold in SC or GA. Coin silver serving spoon by John Adam of Alexandria, Virginia, ca. 1801-1846. Nine inches long. Fiddle handle is ribbed on reverse. Engraved "GSH" in copperplate script. Marked "I [bullet] ADAM." in rectangle. Broad drop. Handle appears to have been slightly bent where fiddle meets stem, but you have to look closely to see this minor defect. Only the slightest bowl wear on the left. In very good condition.

He was in Paris, Kentucky form c. 1844-1847, in Shelbyville, Kentucky from c. 1847-1854, and again in Paris c. 1854. Manufactured by the Norton/Seymour group in Syracuse, NY, working ca. 1849-60 as shown by the Star/D/Eagle mark on the reverse, which places the spoon from ca. 1849-54. A coin silver tablespoon/serving spoon from William Kendrick of Louisville, Kentucky, 8 & 15/16 inches long. Fiddle tipt pattern. Engraved "EJ" in cursive on the front handle. Marked "Wm.KENDRICK" on the reverse. Kendrick was in business from 1824-1880. This spoon is of a design common from at least 1840-1860. In very good condition.

A pair of coin silver tablespoons/serving spoons, 8 and 11/16 inches long, marked "W. KENDRICK LOUISVILLE" incuse on the reverse for William Kendrick, working 1824-80. These fiddle tipt spoons appear to be of the 1840-1860 period. Engrave "AMC" [?, rubbed] in cursive on the front of the handle. Some wear on the tip of the bowls, more noticeable on one in which the tip is barely beginning to curl, but still serviceable.

See Belden, p. 370. 4 bowls in excellent condition, one good, and one fair due to denting. Engraved "HCH" on the front of the handles in cursive script. Pattern looks like the "Wadefield" pattern of Samuel Kirk & Son depicted in Turner, American Silver Flatware 1837-1910, p. 102.

SOLD 

Five fiddle handle coin silver teaspoons by Andrew E. Warner, Baltimore, Maryland, (1810-1870) probably c. 1840-1860. Marked "A.E.WARNER" in serrated rectangle and 10.15 in rectangle [the 15 is elevated above the 10 and is underlined; this was a Baltimore mark that mean .896 silver and was used from c. 1840-1860]. Bowls are in excellent condition with a very little tip wear. Engraved "EAL" in script on the front handle. A very nice set of early teaspoons.
