Coin silver teaspoon by Albert Coles of NYC, ca. 1870-78m marked with his "Pigtail man" mark. The pattern looks very much like "Josephine" by Gorham, which was patented in 1855. Wear on the drop and denting in the bowl. No engraving.

Marked "PATENT 1847" incuse, "H" incuse probably for Henry Hebbard with whom he worked from 1852-58,although it may be a journeyman's mark, and "TIFFANY & Co." incuse for the retailer Tiffany of NYC...

Coin silver teaspoon in the "Jenny Lind" pattern. 6 inches long. By Albert Coles of NYC. Ca. 1870-78. Marked with Coles' "Pigtail man" mark, used between 1870 and 78. P. T. Barnum introduced the American public to Jenny Lind, "the Swedish nightengale." She was a nationwide smash as a singer, despite some criticism of her talent. Thus a silver pattern named after her. Engraved "H. M. Abrahamson" in copperplate script. Bowl is perfect. Essentially like new...

Plain Tipped/Tipt pattern, unmarked coin silver dessert fork, 7" long, marked "COIN" incuse on the reverse and engraved "C" in Gothic on the front of the handle. Tines are perfect.

A coin silver dessert fork, 6 an 15/16 inches long, in the "Olive" pattern, marked "Wood & Hughes" incuse and "W [&] H" incuse with the mark that the 4th ed. of Rainwater identifies as being used after 1871. However, since the fork is coin and is not marked sterling, I expect that it was made before 1871, possibly by William Gale, and marketed by Wood & Hughes in NYC later. Engraved "J. I. An unmarked coin silver sugar shell in an unique mid-19th century pattern, heavily engraved by engine engraving on the front. Engraved "ELP". Marked "PURE COIN" incuse. Three minor cracks in the scallops of the shell do not deter from its beauty or usefullness.6 & 11/16 inches long.

Scottish Sterling silver egg spoon, 5 and 1/8 inches long, Glasgow, 1824-5, Mitchell & Son. Engraved with a crest of a bird and torse below. The color is sterling, the photos are poor in color. Great for modern use as a condiment spoon, if not as an egg spoon.

Scottish Sterling Tablespoon/Serving spoon, 8 and 1/2 inches long, in the Old English pattern with Beaded edge. Bowl has slight wear on the left. Marked for Edinburgh, 1965-66, made by Mackay & Chisholm. Engraved on the front with a monogram that looks like "HKC".
