Monumental 24" tall Antique American Art Pottery lidded Urn dated 1880. Decorated with hand painted Morning Glory flowers and vine . This piece is somewhat reminiscent of period pieces such as Cincinnati Faience Limoges style pottery, Wheatley, the Cincinnati Pottery Club or possibly a company as obscure as Coultry Pottery of Cincinnati, however an exact attribution has yet to be made. Signed on the bottom by the artist Jennie E Wright, we found a listing and biography of a early Northwest landscape and portrait artist by this name that was born in Auburn NY in 1838, she is purported to have traveled abroad extensively living in both New York and Chicago before moving to the Northwest, without further verification we can only speculate that this piece may have been produced by this artist through an Ohio Art Club. Condition is as shown with a large glued rim chip and a few glaze flakes in the design toward the bottom, no other chips cracks or repairs. The body of the vessel is quite thick and appears to have been cast in a two piece mold. Boxed shipping weight is 20 pounds
