Rare Screen Gems Color Rhapsodies series Technicolor Cartoon Animation Cel from 1939. The title of the cartoon is "The House that Jack Built", Jack the Beaver builds a house but is invaded by a pesky bear, ostrich and termites. The film was produced by Sid Marcus, animated by well known artists Art Davis and Herb Rothwill.(rothwell), music by Joe DeNay and voices by Danny Webb and Pinto Colvig who was well known as the voice of Goofy in all the Disney cartoons. This hand painted cel is in its original frame with identifying labels on the back, one reads The Moyer Gallery252 Trumbull St Hartford, Conn. and a large label identifying it as guaranteed to be an original painting used in the actual production of the Charles Mintz Color Rhapsodies cartoon "THE HOUSE THAT JACK BUILT" is certified as being the original and only copy of this particular painting in existence and sold pursuant to a license from Screen Gems, Inc. The size of the cel is 4.5" X 4.5" it is matted and framed under glass in a 13.5" X 10.5" frame. Over all excellent original condition, it has never been removed frame, the cell does have a spot of tape on the top edge, the cel has slipped down a bit allowing the tape to be visible. No lose or cracking paint, no in-painting, NICE!! Shipping via USPS Priority Mail will be approximately $10, Insurance will be extra.
