I believe this very unusual pin to be from the Georgian era, but am not positive. It measures approx. 2 5/8" across and is made of what appears to be steel and an amethyst stone set in the center. It has a "C" clasp and an early Tube hinge on the reverse, and is just beautiful! The clasp and hinge are in perfect working condition, although the "pin" itself is a tiny bit bent. This bisque matte finish porcelain trinket box is in wonderful condition, with no repairs or damage, and would look lovely on your vintage dresser tray. It is footed, and is decorated with gold paint accents with a transferware design on the lid. The hinged lid is framed with decorative metal, and it fastens shut.
