Vintage CLOTH DOLL FACE for Doll Making - Hand Painted

This vintage hand painted doll face is mounted on a mesh-like material to give the face a sturdy form. I'm not sure if this was meant for a factory-made doll, or for the homemaker/home-seamstress.
