1928 SENIOR CLASS Yearbook From The JULIA RICHMAN HIGH SCHOOL. New York City Girl's School in 1928.This famous New York City High School was built in 1923, and started out as a private school for well-to-do girls. Over the decades it became public, and degenerated into a grafitti filled, high crime institution. Desperately needing a change, in the 1990s, it became a model of school reform when the large building complex was subdivided into many different schools, and was renamed the JULIA RICHMAN EDUCATIONAL COMPLEX. It is now still in operation, and a wonderful example of the ideal educational environment for learning. Back in 1928 when this yearbook was printed, it was still the gentile girls' high school that it was originally intended to be. All the girls in their class photos are well-dressed, well-coifed, late 1920s "Flappers". This 70 page book includes the following: Frontispiece Illustration by Pauline Alisch,
Letter to Graduates by Principal Michael H. Lucey,
Senior Pictures, (over 300) each with a 2 line poem,
Photo: Who's Who in June, 1928 by New York Photographer Walter,
