Written by J.R.R. Tolkien, author of the beloved LORD OF THE RINGS Trilogy and THE HOBBIT. This is the U.K. edition, published by George Allen & Unwin Ltd., London. I believe it is the first edition, and perhaps 2nd printing - as I believe the very first printing of the 1st edition does not have the white border on the cover. The version with the totally black/borderless cover tended to show much edgewear wear, so the 2nd printing was done with the white border. It is 64 pages long, and measures approx. 4 1/2" x 6". It comes without a dust jacket with illustrated glossy cover, as originally issued. There is some very light scuffing to the cover. The pages are in pristine, mint condition.
