Early BLUEBEARD Children's Book Litho CUPPLES AND LEON

This wonderful early printing of Bluebeard is part of the Twilight Series published by Cupples & Leon Co. There is no copyright date, but I would guess it to be from approx. the 1910s-1920s. The cover is heavy cardboard and is beautifully illustrated by Fred S. Howard, as well as 2 additional color plates inside which are printed on glossy paper, illustrated by the same artist. The rest of the book is printed on lightly browned paper, and features illustrations as black line art with captions. It measures approx. 5" x 7", and is in nice condition with a 2" spine split and soiling to cover. Pages are lightly browned but free of rips and scribbles.
