Glass and sterling silver. Sixteen elaborate and detailed tennis scenes on the 1-1/4" wide sterling borders. Cut sunburst design in the glass bottoms of the plates. Blue paint on the bottom under the silver. Diameter 7-5/8". No monogram. Overall and mark condition are excellent.

Applied molded top band. Elaborately engraved reserve on the front. Marked 925/[Krider & Biddle logo]/539/BAILEY&Co. Circa 1871. Height to top of handle 4-1/4". Diameter of mouth and base 3-1/4". Weight 7 troy ounces. The monogram on the front, in the engraved reserve, is JR/from/AJM/August 1871. Overall and mark condition are excellent.
