Overall condition of the spoon is excellent except for a small tear at the base of the bowl. Notes: (1)this mark of J.GORHAM&SON, all in caps, is not illustrated in Carpenter, Belden, or Flynt & Fales (2) this is really a pair, but the second spoon has two small tears in the bowl and the bowl needs regulating. Top of blade engraved, scalloped edge around three sides. Handle has bead design on both sides. Length 12-3/16". Blade length 6-3/16"; width 2-1/2". Weight 4.45 troy ounces. The monogram on the top of the blade is an Old English EP in an elliptical reserve. This is for Elizabeth Parsons who married Dr. George Derby in Cambridge, MA in 1864. Overall and mark condition are excellent.

Mark condition is excellent; overall condition is also excellent except that one spoon has a bowl dent. These spoons could be a little earlier than 1805 judging by the block monogram and the small size of the spoons.
