Sugar tongs marked H, circa 1840

Fiddle, sharp fins, broad elliptical grips. Length 6-1/4". The monogram at the bow is a script CN. Marked inside each arm. Yale attributes this mark to David Hempstead of New London, CT. See Silver magazine, March/April 1990 for discussion of mark. Overall and mark condition are excellent.
