Also marked Pure Silver Coin. Floral repousse, on pedestal base, fine beading around top and base. Height 4-3/4". Mouth diameter 3"; base diameter 2-3/8". Weight 3-1/2 troy ounces. The presentation inscription is: Presented to/Alice A.Wood/by the "infant class" of/Globe Village S.School/Aug.20th 1865. This is Globe Village, MA, a mill town. Alice A. Wood is almost certainly the one born in 1848 and who appears in the Federal census every decade from 1850 through 1900 in Upton, MA, which is 33 miles from Globe Village. Mark and overall condition of the piece are excellent (the base rim needs minor regulating).
