Sairey Gamp is a character from Charles Dickens' "Martin Chuzzlewit". She is depicted here in the small size Royal Doulton character jug or Toby. Designed by Leslie Harradine and Harry Fenton, Sairey was produced from 1935 to 1986. This particular jug is in excellent condition and measures approximately 3 1/4" in height. From its styling, I would estimate this lovely berry bowl set dates to somewhere between the 1930's to perhaps the 40's or 50's. Hallmarked Z.S. & Co. Bavaria, this 7~piece set consists of the master berry bowl and 6 small berry bowls. A soft, shaded green coloring serves as the perfect backdrop for the luscious pink hand painted roses.
