This pretty little child's tea set is hallmarked as being Nippon, but I'm not so sure that the marking is correct or that the set dates that far back. However, I do believe that the set is from at least the 1950's or 60's, possibly a bit earlier, as the quality of the porcelain is certainly in line with items from that time frame.
White porcelain with shadings of blue and yellow serve as the backdrop for delicately hand painted pink roses while gold accents embellish rims, tea pot spout and lid finial.
The set consists of the tea pot and four matching cups and saucers. The pot is 4 1/2" in height with the lid seated. Saucers are 4 1/4" in diameter and the cups are 1 7/8" in height and 2 1/4" in diameter. All of the pieces are free of chips, nicks or cracks and only a couple of firing marks (not unusual) to report. Quite a pretty set and a great gift for the "little princess" in your life.
