This Stetson China SPRINGTIME Pattern 8" Oval, Handled, Covered Soup Tureen is in excellent condition, no chips, cracks, or significant wear. This pattern features a pink, yellow, orange and blue spring flower bouquet on offwhite glazed china. These pieces are from a complete collection from an estate purchase; see separate listings for more pieces. The Stetson China Company was formed in 1946 in Lincoln Illinois and went out of business in 1966; the company decorated whiteware provided by Mt. Clemens Pottery with decals (and, for a short time, hand painting). Nearly all of Stetsonīs ware was sold to a Chicago brokerage firm (Marcrest) who in turn sold it to grocery and furniture stores. Stetson did not mark all of their pieces, and some of the pieces in this collections are marked, others are not (see picture 4 for the mark on the bottom of one of the platters).
