Huntley & Palmers Antique Tin by Mabel Lucy Attwell

Cute Mabel Lucie Attwell biscuit tin from early 1970's entitled "Little Friends". Once contained Iced Gem Biscuit by the famous Huntley & Palmers Company, England. Measures 5" across & depth of 1 1/4", weighs about 3 oz. Litho by English artist Mabel Lucie Attwell, born in London in 1879. When she was 16 she went to college, financed by selling her illustrations. Her illustrations can be found in many of the popular fairy tale and nursery rhymes. From the very beginning her work was in constant demand. This is an excellent representation of her talent and the humor she brought to much of her work. This tin has some scratches and a few, very minimal, rust spots. I've elected not to "scour" it rather than to do more damage than good. Considering its age, it is in good condition and the colors remain very vivid. I’ve tried to show honest representation in my photographs. These little tins are getting harder to find, a real treasure with so much history.
