Rex Fifth Avenue Compact, Vintage

Beautiful vintage Ladies Compact in the shape of a heart. It appears to be made of brass. The top is a rouge/red and the bottom is textured (in the photo, it looks like the bottom is marred but that is a "sticky" substance and I'm afraid to scour it). At one time there were tiny "jewels" in the heart shaped design on the top, only 3 remain. New jewels could be inset but it would also be just as decorative not to have them at all. It's about 3 ½" at the widest and 4" at tallest points. There are some scratches on the face but I believe those could be easily buffed out. The push button clasp and hinges work well and open to reveal a soft heart-shaped powder puff with a tab that identifies it as "Rex Fifth Avenue" and below that is a heart-shaped screen to hold the loose powder. There is a heart-shaped mirror inside with no defects or damage. It is a beautiful little piece, very collectible.
