PEDISTAL CUP, W.G. Forbes, NYC (c. 1795-1800)

Coin silver cup by William G. Forbes, New York City (c.1795-1800), 4-15/16" tall, 3-7/16" diameter at rim, 2-3/4" at base, goblet-shaped bowl on stepped pedestal foot with beading around edge, bowl has gold wash interior, applied reeded lip, two cast reeded C-shaped strap handles extend above rim and have leaf terminals at top, fancy feather script monogram "GD" in circular bright cut cartouche on front, marked "W.G FORBES" in shaped rectangular punch to left of one handle.
