Warwick IOGA double-handled vase, 7.5-in. diameter across the widest part, c. 1900. Vase has a sprayed brown base color which fades from dark to golden around the lovely portrait of a pensive brunette. The Warwick China Company did all its own artwork -- rumor has it that the working girls of Wheeling WV served as models. The vase is finished off with sprayed gold on the rim.
The major problem with this vase is a large V-shaped piece missing from the top flute (hence the reduced price). There is slight dark discoloration there, evidence of this being old damage. In addition there is light interior crazing. No problems with the decoration -- any white spots are reflections of the camera flash.
