This is an original oil painting by Karl Kappes. Kappes (1861-1943)is best known for his work as the art director for the Weller Pottery Company in Zanesville Ohio from 1904-1920. However, he was also an accomplished painter of portraits and landscapes, and is best known for his impressionist paintings.
