Dianthus (vase with flowers) is a still life which was created by Elyse Ashe Lord around 1920. Lord (1900-1971) was often characterized as a British Orientalist, as she specialized in far eastern subjects. She was a highly respected artist with accolades which include election to the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolors, and a member of the Society of Graver-Printers in Color.
