This sauce boat was created by Vernon Kilns. It was designed by Don Blanding. Artists such as Don Blanding, and Walt Disney were hired by Vernon Kilns in order to capitalize on a unique production method of underglaze printing which was revolutionized by Vernon Kilns in the 1930's. This printing method involved photographically acid etching a design on bisque before the glaze was applied.
