This charming little orchestra was made by Wendt & Kühn of Erzgebirge in Germany. The musicians are actually chubby wooden angels with green wings and eleven peculiar white dots on each wing - characteristic of W&K. The first angel musician was actually hand crafted as folkart in 1923 by Margarete Wendt. In 1937, the orchestra went on to win a gold medal at the World's Fair in Paris. This wonderful Nativity set is part of the Precious Moments collection, made by Enesco. It is called "They Followed the Star" and consists of 3 gift-bearing Kings on camels following the star to Bethlehem. The set is numbered E 5624. All 3 pieces bear this number (on the base), as well as the Johnathon and David mark, and the name of the set ("They Followed the Star"). This is the complete 9 piece nativity set from the Precious Moments collection, by Enesco. It is model number E-2800. It is called "Come Let Us Adore Him" and was created by artists William Biel and Sam Butcher. All pieces are made of fine porcelain bisque, and are in excellent condition (with no damage). This beautiful duck was manufactured by Fitz and Floyd. It is 2 pieces and could be used for holding candy or trinkets. The base is a burnt orange color, with green, blue, maroon and brown feathers on the wings. It is very heavily gilded in gold. It is marked 1982 and K S on the bottom of the base. It measures 11" long, 5" wide and stands 7.5" tall. It is in excellent condition with no damage of any kind.

This adorable crystal clown is by Swarovski. It was introduced in 1997 and sold out (and retired) in 2008. It measures about 2" wide (at the widest) and 1 3/4" high in its seated position. The face is frosted with aquamarine eyes. The rest of the clown is clear faceted crystal with red, yellow and blue pom-pons of color. It is in excellent condition with no damage of any kind.

Rabbit's Food was designed by sculptor Vincente Martinez and issued in 1972. After a 22 year run, the mold was retired in 1994. This figurine bears the cobalt "Lladro, Hand Made in Spain" mark on the base. It depicts a young woman feeding a rabbit from her apron. It stands 9" tall and is in excellent condition with no damage of any kind.

Brad Keeler was a California artist who, in 1939, began creating "naturalistic studies" of birds and animals. These creations were then sold though gift stores. Keeler is best known for his decorating techniques whereby he first applied color with an airbrush, then hand-painted other details to enhance the figurines. Sadly, Keeler died suddenly in 1952. "Brother Juniper" cartoons were first created by Fred McCarthy in 1938. History shows that Juniper was an real person (as well as a monk) who lived during the 13th Century. Apparently Juniper was a bit of a "cut-up". It is in this likeness that McCarthy created the nationally syndicated comic strip that ran from 1946-1979. This amazing flower frog was made by the Weller Pottery Company. It is called Muskota Ware and dates from 1915 - 1928. This particular piece is called "Leda and the Swan". According to Greek mythology, Leda was approached by the god Zeus while he was masquerading as a swan. Zeus made love to Leda in this form, and Helen of Troy was born out of the union. The memorable union between Leda and the Swan has long been immortalized by artisans and also greatly influenced mythology. ...click for details
