The Cambridge Glass Company was in business from 1901 to 1958. They primarily made beautiful crystal dinnerware, and were the largest manufacturer of this type of glass in the 1920's and 30's. Early in the 1930's they began producing the "chantilly" pattern. This pattern was characterized by a delicate floral and scroll motif which was etched into the crystal. This beautiful piece was made by the Cambridge Glass Company of Cambridge Ohio. It is in the popular "Rose Point" pattern, but the pattern is encrusted, or overlaid in gold. The rim of the bowl is also trimmed with gold, as is the upper edge of the foot. This pattern was manufactured from 1935-1953. This piece is called a low compote with 2 handles. This beautiful lady was made by Cambridge Glass in the 1930's. Cambridge called this line "Statuesque" and also referred to it by the line number 3011. No matter by which name they go, these pieces are striking, and widely sought after.
