Frankoma Pottery (originally Frank Potteries) was founded in Oklahoma by John Nathaniel Frank, a university ceramics art teacher and his wife Grace. The Franks, a devoutly religious couple, issued their first Christmas plate in 1965, promising a series of annual plates bearing religious themes in Della Robbia white.
