This amazing syrup was manufactured by Model Flint Glass Works of Albany Indiana. The design is attributed to John F. Miller. According to "Victorian Colored Pattern Glass" by Heacock and Gamble it was only produced between 1901 and 1902 in a very limited quantity. The pattern is called collared reverse swirl. From the handle on down to the bottom of the syrup, there are 1/2" bands or ribs that angle down and to the right. The opalescent strips swirl in the reverse direction of those bands...

Herend has been producing outstanding porcelain pieces since 1826. Each piece is kiln fired, then carefully hand decorated by one of 750 painters employed by the company. The skilled artisans are guided only by tiny dots of graphite applied through perforated forms. With multi-colored designs, multiple firings (between color applications) are often necessary to achieve the correct colors. A single piece may take weeks to perfect...

Although the Little Red Riding Hood line (1943-1957) is attributed to the A E Hull Pottery Company, most of the the line was actually produced by Regal China. Hull developed and patented the idea, then sent many of the white ware items to Regal for decoration. Pieces in the line were apparently marked with different marks, depending on the manufacturer. This butter dish is marked with the "Pat. Des. No. 135889" mark (see photo). It measures 6 3/4" long, 4 3/4" wide and 6" high...

This 4-fluted vase was made by The Rookwood Pottery Company. The Company was operational from 1879-1967. This piece was made in 1950, as indicated by the "L" under the Rookwood mark on the base. It is very unique in both shape and color. The shape is bulbous at the bottom, then sort of pinched at the top to form 4 flutes. The glaze is beautiful. It is a mix of black, brown, gray and white on the exterior. The glaze was allowed to just run down the sides of the vase. The interior of the v...

During the 1920's The Quaker Oats Company acquired "Aunt Jemima". Since that time, she has been used in numerous advertising premiums. This cookie jar is such an example. During the 1950's Quaker Oats offered this svelte "soft plastic" version. This is the second time Quaker Oats offered a plastic Aunt Jemima cookie jar - the first was a hard plastic version manufactured by F&F. Apparently this slimmer, lighter skinned version was not as popular with the public, so the company discontinued ...

This pair of Spaniels was made in the Staffordshire district of England. A great number of potteries have made Staffordshire their home since the early eighteenth century. These potteries created figurines which were often made in pairs that mirrored one another; dogs were a favorite. The figurines were most often only decorated on the front as they were meant to be displayed against a wall (sometimes called "flat backs"). Each dog in this pair measures 6" wide, 2.25" deep and stands 7" tall...

This beautiful tea set was made by Thomas Marktredwitz some time between 1905 and 1908. To give you a bit of history on the company I am citing a web source called porcelainmarksandmore.com "In 1898 the first porcelain factory opened in the town of Marktredwitz and was known under the name of 'Porzellanfabrik Jaeger, Thomas & Co.' In 1903, Thomas decided to leave his partners and open his own factory. Based on the ideas Thomas introduced, success was nearly instantaneous for the new company. ...
