Villeroy & Boch Dresden Saxony Nesting Bowls 6812
These beautiful bowls were made by Villeroy & Boch, an English company producing quality dinnerware since 1748. They are blue in color with a high gloss glaze. I do not know the name of the pattern, but it consists of a band of squares near the rim, containing flowers and geometric shapes. The rim of each bowl is scalloped. There are 5 bowls in the set. They are numbered 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 on the base (from largest to smallest) and range from 7-3/8" in diameter to 3-7/8". They have been used. Each bowl shows discoloration inside, and #5 has a nick at the rim (see photo). The mark is from the Dresden factory - one site dates the mark between 1874-1909. Each bowl has this mark on the base, as well as the number 6812. The price is for the set.
