Item #99

From 1907 until 1920, iridescent glass, the original name for carnival glass, was Fenton's major product. This "rainbow" effect of multiple colors with changing hues is created by spraying mixtures of metallic salts on various colors of hot glass. The blue-green treatment proved to be one of the most popular applications. This beautiful water set consists of a water pitcher and 4 tumblers. Each piece is a rose base color with the blue-green treatment applied. The various hues radiate a rainbow of colors including blue, green, purple, and yellow. Each piece is marked. Three of the tumblers also have the original paper label intact. This is the only way most people can distinguish this set from Fenton's works of the early 1900's. The pitcher has a crimped or ruffled top as well as a spout. It stands 7 5/8" tall, and is nearly the same measurement across the handle and spout. The handle has ridges that contour it's shape. It has hob nails of varying sizes - smaller at the top, larger in the middle, then smaller again at the bottom. Overall it is bulbous in shape. Each tumbler is 4 1/4 " tall and 2 7/8" in diameter. The top is slightly larger than the bottom. The hob nails are smaller at the base of each tumbler then they are at the top. This set is in excellent shape with no damage of any kind.
