Monarch Peanut Butter Jar

This glass jar bears the "Monarch Peanut Butter" label. Monarch Peanut Butter was made by Reid, Murdoch and Co, in Chicago Illinois, dating all the way back to 1853. This jar dates around 1926. It held 1 lb 8 oz of peanut butter. The glass jar is 6 sided. It is marked Reid Murdoch and Co on the bottom, and has the original zinc Ball cap. The label has pulled away from the glass in two small areas one of which is a bit crinkled (see 2nd photo). Other than that it is in excellent condition and displays the Lion logo well. This jar measures 7 3/4" tall. It is 3 3/4" at the widest, 2 1/2" deep and has a 2 1/2" diameter at the cap.
