Rookwood Gray Vase 6953
$325.00
This 4-fluted vase was made by The Rookwood Pottery Company. The Company was operational from 1879-1967. This piece was made in 1950, as indicated by the "L" under the Rookwood mark on the base. It is very unique in both shape and color. The shape is bulbous at the bottom, then sort of pinched at the top to form 4 flutes. The glaze is beautiful. It is a mix of black, brown, gray and white on the exterior. The glaze was allowed to just run down the sides of the vase. The interior of the vase is turquoise about 1" down, then cream or white. The vase stands 7" tall. It is 5" at the widest and 3 3/4" across the top (opening). The base measures 3 1/4" in diameter. It is marked with both the Rookwood mark (including date) as well as the mold number 6953. It is in excellent condition with no damage of any kind.
